Tobermory Inn & Suites

I'm VERY surprised to see overall rating for this property on Google Maps to be 3.3. I can't say enough about the room we stayed in! Not only the room was squeaky clean - it was freshly renovated! You could still smell the new furniture. Big TV with working Netflix and other streaming platforms, nice balcony with beautiful view, comfortable beds, decent AC. Everything was great!

We recently stayed at the Tobermory Inn and Suites with our two children ages one and three. We were on the second floor of the main building and had a wonderful view of the lake and could watch the ferry coming and going. The room, although basic, was very clean and decently spacious. The king bed was actually extremely comfortable. Small things like mismatched sheets and dated accent furniture detract from the room but it was still a clean and comfortable space. The air conditioning worked well during a 40+C day outside, and while it was loud, we appreciated the consistent white noise it created and the comfortable sleeping temperature. The next day was cooler and we slept with the patio door open and enjoyed the lake breeze, and the sound of the waves crashing on shore. We did notice some noise (thumping and clanging) from guests in the hotel each night, likely checking in after the last ferry arrival, but the noise stopped once the guests were settled. Erin, the general manager was a joy to speak to from our first inquiry all the way through to checkout. Hotel was an easy 12 min walk (with a stroller) to the main area of Tobermory, and the path goes along the lake and across a boardwalk. For a basic no frills hotel, this was a great option in Tobermory. There is lots of work being done at the hotel to freshen things up, so do not be deterred by old reviews.

Highly recommended place to stay for everyone! The rooms are newly renovated, spacious, very clean and quiet. Rooms were equipped with WiFi, towels, a mini fridge and a microwave. Erin, the Manager is very nice, accommodating and easy to reach at even by text. The location is very beautiful and lots of parking space. It is a walking distance to the restaurants and other amenities. Will definitely come back again!

From the moment we arrived , Erin—the manager—went above and beyond to welcome us warmly and hand over the keys without delay. Her hospitality set the tone for an amazing experience. We booked the 2 Queen Bed Premier Room, which was recently renovated and beautifully upgraded. It was spotless, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The balcony offered a peaceful oasis with a stunning view of Georgian Bay Lake, where we could watch cruise ships loading for nearby island tours and spot the Bruce Anchor boats drifting by. One of the most memorable sights was the Big Tub Lighthouse visible from the property—a beautiful landmark that added to the charm of our stay. Everything was within walking distance, including the local town stores, which made exploring Tobermory effortless. Parking was convenient and stress-free, a huge plus in such a popular destination. This place truly captured the heart of Tobermory. We absolutely loved it and would return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

We had a wonderful two-night stay here with our kids. The room was spotless, well-equipped with toiletries, a fridge, and a microwave — perfect for a family. The air conditioner worked great, and the kids enjoyed relaxing with TV after our walks. The highlight was the beautiful lake view, where we could watch the Chi-Cheemaun preparing to sail. The hotel is just a short walk from the lakeside trail, which we enjoyed taking into the main area for stunning views along the way. Special thanks to Erin, the manager, who was incredibly warm, welcoming, and quick to help with anything we needed. We truly appreciated her hospitality. Overall, a great stay — we’d happily come back!
